| Between the Burgundy and the Champagne, the region of Langres offers a multitude of culinary delights - The cheese of Langres: an AOC recognized cheese that may be savoured at the Germain cheese store (rue de l’Aiguillon in Chalancey). - The Choue beer: This double-fermented brew may be sampled at the Brasserie Vauclair (http://la-choue.com). - The Cassis of Alice: Set on 1.8 ha discover cassis (black currents) and other red fruit made into jams, fruit pâtés and the elixir of cassis – a maceration of black currents and red Burgundy wine (http://cassis-alice.com). - Its vineyards: Between Champagne and Burgundy, the Haute-Marne is equally proud of its vineyards at Coiffy and Vaux-sous-Aubigny. - Its truffles: It is possible to find truffles in this region! Not far from the campsite you may sample and hunt for this delicacy. These products, and many others as well, are available at the local markets – in Langres every Friday morning and at Chalindrey Thursday mornings. Wine tasting and cheese sampling are regularly organized at Kawan Village Lac de la Liez – a perfect opportunity to sample these products while becoming acquainted with other campers. And don’t forget, you will of course find a selection of these fine delights on our menu ! |
